We are living in the best time possible, the era that's truly extraordinary where despite occasionally having bouts of despondency, there's always a spark of joy eagerly awaiting to grace our days by not only putting a smile on our cute little faces but also brightening up our days and relieves stress. I swear this has nothing to do with the influence of Bhang or the alluring comfort of Chapo mbili-beans combo. I am talking of the ever-evolving world of memes, where humor knows no bounds. Kenyans, in particular, have mastered the art of meme creation, most prominently on X (formerly known as Twitter), hence the coined phrase KOT. I'm inclined to think it's high time we shift our focus to KOX.
But here is the thing, we inhabit a world where anything, quite literally anything, can suddenly become a trending topic. One day, you wake up to a trending subject or thread as peculiar as that phase when you slowly start hating your girlfriend is crazy. Another day a prominent politician is on the receiving end soaking in harsh criticism and the full wrath from the same people who voted him in cause unfortunately things didn't work ( unfulfilled promises) and on sad days some social media influencer becomes the target of merciless trolling. Well, post that photo of yours that you think imeweza and probably is IOS -certified and they will scrutinize it and find out those minute embarrassing details you never thought of. If they don't detect anything, they will fire their missiles in the comment section. I go through the comments section sometimes and the consensus is clear: Kenyans never disappoint when it comes to wit and humor.
Mejja is my witness😂😂.
The Power of Memes:
The online landscape always sizzles with entertainment headlines and hashtags that keep us all engaged, right from X-rated cultural content on Tuesdays ( I won't delve into it) to a leaked video of a certain celebrity( Nothing unites Kenyans more than this).
But do you truly grasp the concept that anything can trend? Remember those coffin pall-bearers' memes?
If not, surely you recall the memes of that comically lyrical rapper, Lil Mbwa.
The list keeps updating and it gets even more hilarious with the most recent addition:
Nashindwa mbona siwezi inua kichwa kumbe nimetuck in ndevu
Ndio kutoka cells za KWS. Walinishika juzi wakithani mi ni Simba... Kumbe ni ndevu
Dem flani uku kwa mat ameenda kuanguka akajishikilia na ndevu zangu.
That's the joke! Beards trended. The past few weeks in October had been awash with hilarious captivating memes. At least for the first time, men were in the spotlight and this is the point we say we knew our time would come. Some ladies, however, never found this appealing and they retaliated in equal measure with some freaky memes cause apparently, they also wanted to be-ard. This is the point where we men in unison say you go there ( kwendeni uko).
Now, let's refocus on the subject at hand—beards. It's all about the beards. I can't precisely pinpoint the origin of those memes that took the internet by storm for at least fourteen days. However, funny or absurd they may seem, they have a humongous bearing on today's electrifying thought. Let's dissect it.

Movember and No Shave November:
It's a new month—November. This month brings with it an onslaught of hashtags urging us toward various do's and don'ts. No, I'm not referring to "No Nut November." I'm talking about a specific hashtag that has a profound bearing on every man's life: #No Shave November and #Movember.
But before you men get too excited, let me sprinkle some little nuggets of wisdom before you start using this to back up your argument of propagating those hilarious Ndevu memes. I know this is the game for men but it doesn't give you a leeway to look rugged and homeless for nothing. So what is the meaning of Movember and No Shave November? Why does it even matter to you as a man? Let me take you with rieng' and help you demystify this issue of vital concern.

Men’s Health Awareness:
Movember is an annual event in November where men grow mustaches to raise awareness about men's health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. It's a global movement to promote men's health awareness and encourage discussions about these crucial topics. On the other hand, "No-Shave November" is a similar concept but with a broader focus on facial hair and raising awareness about cancer. Participants let their facial hair grow throughout November and donate the money they'd typically spend on grooming to cancer research and awareness programs.
But what's the deal with this beard-growing frenzy? Well, it's not about looking like those photos portrayed in the era of Moses and most probably a certain popular preacher in our republic. It's about starting conversations about cancer, encouraging early detection, and supporting organizations fighting this disease. The concept began as a way to honor those affected by cancer, making it more than just a fashion statement.

Embrace your Beards:
I know for a fact, that we all have that one friend who looks at your old photos and asks whether you grew a beard. I am talking about you with those sparsed pins on your chin and you are tired of playing join the dots with your beards. Let no lady tell you nothing. Let nobody despise you or make that lame joke oh, there is no difference between you and a sufuria. It can be bushy like Santa Claus's, it can be well-trimmed like mine. It can be those 3 pins that make every girl say hi handsome. But ndevu ni ndevu. The key is to embrace your beards.
As a matter of fact, I am sick and tired of overexplaining myself to my former primary school friends and colleagues. Let me address the nation for the last time. I got beards and I've shaved severally. Please stop spreading those rumors and innuendos ati sina ndevu because ni Mimi na washow. The evidence is overwhelming and the beard can actually tell who is the real GOAT.
Moreover, it's not just a beard; it's a passport to awesomeness and a status symbol. Now, because of this beard, it will cost you a premium amount to take a selfie with me. And men, let's address the myth: Does shaving make a beard grow back thicker? Share your thoughts in the comments section and let's help our fellow men. Desist from women who are obsessed with beards; they might be Ndevu worshippers.
In conclusion, the power of memes, as trivial as they may seem, can lead to worldwide trends. They're not just for entertainment; they can inspire conversations on important topics like men's health and cancer awareness. So, while you embrace your beards this November, remember that your facial hair is more than just a fashion statement; it's a statement of support for significant causes.
But when the shaving spirit calls, don't hesitate to pay a visit to the talented barber just waiting below👇.
Live and let live.

YOU ONLY GOT ONE SHOT,DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO BLOW
I think the statement " I can work under pressure " is all too familiar to some if not all of us who have had the privilege of sending out various application letters. Lemme say sadly, I presume you never got any feedback from where you sent the applications. I would attribute this to the joblessness in this country, but that's a story for another day.
Well, talking from experience, I trimmed my beards immediately I saw the "3 pins" , I know 'ndevu worshipers' won't believe but right now I am forced to dedicate at least 3 hours daily just to groom the thicket that is covering my face...😌
so yeah, beards become thick when you shave them while they are young and popping out...
Fantastic read. Great work!
